CITY OF SUSANVILLE Public Works Department is recruiting for the position of Maintenance Worker I/II to perform a variety of duties in maintenance, repair and construction of City water, geothermal, natural gas, street, and storm drainage facilities while supervised. Preferred qualifications: completion of formal or informal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write at a level required for successful job performance. Required for Level II: must have a minimum of three (3) years hands on experience in the operations of construction, maintenance and repair procedures of water, geothermal, natural gas or street operations; must complete a Competent Person Training class. Level II: Valid California Driver’s license and a Class A Certification. The current annual salary range for the position of the Maintenance Worker I/II is $29,224.00- $48,793.94. Directs the development of specifications for acquisition of a variety of equipment and apparatus. Serves as or directs the provision of services of a designated representative as the ex-officio Sergeant-at-Arms of the Council; maintains order in the Council Chambers by carrying out all instructions given by the presiding officer. Prepares and directs the preparation of a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, ordinances, and other written materials. Maintains and directs the maintenance of working and official departmental files. Monitors changes in laws, court decisions, regulations and technology that may affect departmental operations; implements policy, procedural and operational changes as required. Promote the department’s efforts to actively and meaningfully engage all members of the Susanville community through easy to access and simple to understand methods. Required Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license, or ability to possess prior to appointment, and have a satisfactory driving record.
